📍 Sointula Museum & Dance Studio
One Day Only!
Join us on Saturday, April 5th, from 1 PM to 3 PM for an afternoon of storytelling, music, and local history. Due to growing interest, we’ve expanded the event—the book reading and acoustic set will now take place in the Dance Studio.
Book Reading – Gumboots in the Straits
Local writers will share their favorite stories from Gumboots in the Straits: Nautical Adventures from Sointula to the Salish Sea. Readers include Tony Berger, Kit Eakle, Paul Bozenich, John Thorington, Rick James, Will Soltau, and Gerry Williams.
Live Acoustic Music – Members of Blackfish Sound
Following the reading, members of Blackfish Sound will perform a 45-minute acoustic set featuring jazz and folk-inspired ballads, Canadian folk tunes, and original songs. A great option for those unable to attend the Blackfish Sound 50th Anniversary Dance that evening at the FO hall.
At the Museum:
Two new community-led exhibit displays by Tyler Brett and Skip Jensen.
Books for sale: Gumboots in the Straits.
Original Blackfish Sound posters available for purchase.
This is a one-time event—don’t miss it! Admission is by donation.
