Friday – Cedar Bark Weaving Workshop

The village of Sointula is honoured to welcome ‘Namgis Master Weaver, Nagala Donna Cranmer, and Kwaguł Master Weaver, Anthony Hunt, from Yalis (Alert Bay) for a special Cedar Bark Weaving Workshop.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn traditional Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw cedar weaving techniques directly from two outstanding cultural leaders. All are welcome to join!

When: Friday, July 18 & Saturday, July 19
Times: 10am–12pm and 1pm–3pm (drop-in sessions, first come first served)
Where: Dance Studio (Museum/Library Building), Sointula

Maximum 16 participants per session. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Light refreshments provided!
This workshop is hosted by Jan Lehde with generous funding from the Reconciliation Grant of the Canadian Friends Service Committee (Quakers), in partnership with the Sointula Museum & Historical Society and the Sointula Art Shed.
