From Chris:

Photography for me is a process of paying close attention to where the world catches my eye and heart. I like the foggy Sointula mornings that change our beach views and add an element of mystery to the day. The Rough Bay scene caught for just a second offered a colourful detailed foliage foreground, a nice earthy middle zone with a thin meandering stream and finally the amorphous mist as the backdrop.  I liked the internal ambiance of the scene. There was a sense of the landscape opening up in a new way… a sense of other possibilities.

Terra is on view from July 1st to 31st showcasing works from six Malcolm Island artists, each exploring our island’s unique plant life: its diversity, beauty and uses. Throughout the month we’ll be chatting with each artist and reflecting on one of his/her/their submission.

If you’re interested in purchasing any of the works on display, please reach out to us at info@sointulamuseum.ca or by texting/calling 250-230-9650, or contacting us through Facebook or Instagram
