The proposal for situating the first dwellings and for preparations to be made on the island was approved in the board meeting of the Kalevan Kansa on the 12th of January. The proposal has been published in the Aika-paper earlier. John E. Aro, Sulo Salonen, and Antti Wilander from Brooklyn, N.Y., Dr. Osvald Beckman from Astoria, Oregon, John Lund and John Jerrman from Tacoma, Washington and Kristian Ahonen from Chisholm, Minnesota were accepted as new members.
