To celebrate BC’s Heritage Week, we’re having an open house!
Come and see our newest micro-exhibition of Rick James’ photographs capturing Sointula’s fishing community of the 1970s and 1980s. We’ll also be showcasing two of our latest digitized projects. From our archives we’ll be bringing out early Sointula co-operative documents and photographs, along with editions of the 1956 to 1960 Sointula Scuttlebutt. The Scuttlebutt, was a newsletter produced by the students of the Malcolm Island Superior High School, the same building that Museum resides in.
We’ll have complimentary coffee, tea, and goodies. Admission is by donation.
BC’s Heritage Week is an annual event created by Heritage BC. This year’s theme, “Layer by Layer,” its about uncovering the many layers of the stories that shape the province’s many communities.
