Sointula Museum AGM – March 26, 7:30 PM
Join us at the Sointula Museum on Wednesday, March 26th, at 7:30 PM for our Annual General Meeting. This is an opportunity to review the museum’s activities, financials, and 2024 minutes, as well as take part in the 2025 board election
This year’s AGM will also include a proposed by-law change regarding dissolution, ensuring the museum’s assets remain in the community to protect and preserve Sointula’s history. This does not indicate any plans for closure—this is about securing our historical legacy for the future.
It’s also a great time to renew your annual membership so you can participate in the vote! Renewal payment for memberships can also be done by e-transfer to info@sointulamuseum.ca. Or, you may wish to sign up or renew when you arrive at the AGM.

Current bylaw – Part 9 – Dissolution
Dissolution:
18. 1 Upon dissolution of the Society, and after payment of all debts and liabilities, the remaining property of the Society shall be distributed or disposed of to the charitable organizations within the area of operation of the Society, whose objects most nearly accord with those of the Society and that the members of the Society shall not have any interest in the property or assets of the Society upon the Society ceasing to exist.
Proposed Change
Upon dissolution of the Sointula Museum and Historical Society, and after payment of all debts and liabilities, the remaining assets of the Sointula Museum and Historical Society shall be conferred to the Sointula Recreation Association or, in the event that Association is no longer able to accept the assets, then assets to be conferred to a community-based organization interested in preserving the history of Malcolm Island.
