From Wendy:
Every pebble, every rock face and every mountain has a story to tell. Contrary to the expression “solid as a rock”, they all began their journey in a molten liquid state and have travelled the earth for millennia, blown out of volcanoes, carried by glaciers or washed up by the sea. What we think of as “terra firma” is an illusion. The earth is in constantly in motion, however slowly. I hope that I have been able to convey through my photographs a small part of the big story that this earth has to tell us.
Terra is on view from July 1st to 31st showcasing works from six Malcolm Island artists, each exploring our island’s unique plant life: its diversity, beauty and uses. Throughout the month we’ll be chatting with each artist and reflecting on one of his/her/their submission.
If you’re interested in purchasing any of the works on display, please reach out to us at info@sointulamuseum.ca or by texting/calling 250-230-9650, or contacting us through Facebook or Instagram.
